Charlotte Colombo
This is a clearly organised CV, which ticks all the boxes in terms of layout. It focuses on practical work experience at the top, before spilling down into volunteer experience and education history. In general, for journalism roles we would always advise you to start with your experience rather than your education, as this is what really sets you apart from others.
Crucially, this CV is also easy to read, breaking down experience into bite-sized chunks that a hiring manager can look at easily. It can be tempting to write big paragraphs for each section you’re including, but remember that hiring managers will have a huge pile of these to look through. In short, bullet points are your friend, and should easily reveal what you did at a role, both in terms of skills and completed projects.
