Being an intern at The Sun is a gateway to a great career in journalism. During this paid internship you will get full training, 4 days a week with The Sun, while also studying towards a fully-funded NCTJ qualification.
The Role: You will spend time with our industry leading editorial team; supporting the Night Editor production team organising stories ready for publication. You will join the daily editorial conferences to understand the daily news agendas and work on breaking news, then checking whether stories have already been published while keeping across any breaking news. You’ll learn everything we can teach you about how to create content, tell and share stories, attract, grow and capture an audience.
You will receive mentoring and coaching bespoke to you and delivered by some of the most experienced and journalists in the industry.
At the end of the 6 month programme you’ll complete your internship with great experiences, knowledge and network in journalism. There is no better way to start your journalism career than an internship with us.
What we are looking for from you:
- Excellent writing skills with the ability to deliver vibrant, clean copy to very tight deadlines.
- Passion for all things news and a keen interest in journalism.
- Flexible attitude to working hours across seven days including evenings and weekends in line with breaking news.
- An understanding of The Sun brand, both print and digital.
- Positive can-do attitude and good team player.
- The shifts will be 11- 8pm.
- More than anything you have a passion for learning and will grab this opportunity with both hands with the aspiration of being a creative force.
