Journo Resources is a social enterprise that is making the media look more like it should. We’re looking for a freelance social video producer to help us realise this goal and help even more people in 2025.

We’re looking for someone to join our team for one day a week during February 2025, with the possibility of an extension. You’ll primarily be working on short-form videos for our TikTok and Instagram accounts, as well as more text-based social media such as Bluesky and LinkedIn.

The Role

This role will report to our Deputy Editor and Editor, who will support your work on a day-to-day basis.

You’ll be working on social media assets to help give advice to people at all stages of their journalism careers, highlight the benefits of our memberships, and showcase our journalism and resources. This includes:

• Generating ideas for social media videos for our Instagram, TikTok, and LinkedIn accounts;
• Scripting, presenting, filming, and posting social videos to our Instagram, TikTok, and LinkedIn accounts;
• Scheduling content for text-based social media channels such as Bluesky, LinkedIn, and Twitter;
• Attending our daily team meetings to catch up and share ideas.

About You

• You’re passionate about helping to increase access to the journalism industry and believe in our mission;
• You have experience presenting videos to camera and feel comfortable in this kind of forward-facing role;
• You have experience editing social video and understand your way around TikTok, Instagram, and CapCut;
• You’re on top of trends and best practices in social media;
• You’re an ideas person — especially about the journalism industry itself;
• You’re comfortable working remotely; both managing your own tasks and deadlines and collaborating with others;
• You’re familiar with JR’s work and feel like you understand our tone of voice.

The Admin Details

• Initially, this is a one-day-a-week freelance contract for February. We’re looking for someone who can work on either a regular Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday.
• We offer flexible working hours. Generally, our team works 10am–6pm, with an hour for lunch. However, we’re happy to discuss this if you’re an early riser, have childcare commitments, or need any other adjustments to this schedule.
• As a freelance role, you’ll be paid via invoice — this will be paid on the last working day of the month.
