If so, we may have the perfect role for you as Junior Communications Executive at the Advertising Association, where you will be part of a busy in-house communications team in a high-profile organisation.
The Role
The Junior Communications Executive will support all aspects of our communications and strategy work. You will have input on a huge variety of projects, ranging from our responses to important government policies, to supporting the latest creative initiatives from top media and advertising agencies. Your role will have a key part to play in communicating our climate action agenda and helping to build inclusion and trust in advertising.
What Are We Looking For In This Role?

- Ability to take the initiative and be proactive in coming up with creative communications ideas
- A willingness to ‘get stuck in’ and multi-task across teams and workstreams
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Writing and updating communications materials, including weekly newsletters, press releases, and drafting content for our publications
- Producing and scheduling content for the AA’s social media channels, particularly LinkedIn, and our website
- Updating the AA website
- Monitoring the issues affecting the UK advertising industry, specifically through media monitoring tools such as Meltwater
- Helping to produce presentations for the AA’s team to use across a range of meetings with key stakeholders
- Tracking and reporting of communications results including the association’s media coverage and social analytics
- Updating and tracking the AA’s contacts database across media and member contacts
- Liaising across multiple teams to ensure daily updates and processes are managed for the smooth-running of our regular communication materials.
Skills Required:
- Excellent proven written skills, with the ability to produce high quality, accurate and engaging communications materials
- Experience of using social media channels, with a specific focus on LinkedIn and Instagram
- Strong verbal skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and with confidence to colleagues
- Either a relevant degree, or college qualification (ideally within a field related to advertising, marketing, communications, politics or English) or suitable work experience
- Self-motivated and eager to learn
The Ideal Candidate Will Also Have:
- Experience of working in a B2B, journalism, politics, media or creative communications environment (such as through work placements internships and/or a sandwich year at University)
- Design skills and ability to produce social media assets and lay out imagery and text in a clear, professional style across presentations
- Experience of WordPress and newsletter campaign software such as Zoho or Mailchimp
- Knowledge of applications such as Canva or Adobe Photoshop
- Interest in and some understanding of the UK advertising industry and politics across advertisers, agencies, media owners and tech companies

*We are a hybrid working company – requiring employees to work in our Central London office circa 3 days a week. Given the nature of the role, flexibility on working days and times may be needed to support member meetings and events.
