Location: London SE1 - Hybrid (3 office days, 2 remote days)
Salary details: £30,000pa

Working across 6 magazines, from receipt of copy through to sending files to the Printer, your day as Layout Sub-Editor involves :

  • Laying out pages to create eye-catching pages for the print magazines
  • Sourcing images and Caption Writing
  • Creating Pull & Block Quotes
  • Creating Press-ready files for the printers
  • Subbing copy to meet the Publisher’s house style
  • Designing HTML emails on behalf of commercial advertising partners.

A busy and varied role which offers you plenty of opportunity for creativity and personal development.

Layout Sub-Editor – Candidate Criteria

  • A creative flair and experience of laying out pages across print publications.
  • As well as print media it’s also necessary that you have acquired some experience of digital production.
  • A knowledge of design and desktop publishing tools such as Photoshop, InDesign, QuarkXPress, Illustrator.
  • Experience of subbing copy so as to meet the publisher’s house-style.
