Role and Requirements

  • Curate a broad but authoritative content output that reflects Anfield Watch’s standing as a leading authority on Liverpool FC news
  • Self-produce news/features quickly and manage colleagues on shift and generate and select best ideas for content which will drive traffic
  • Demonstrate understanding of various editorial techniques to package content to optimal standard
  • Cover breaking news quickly and authoritatively, with due consideration of legal and ethical obligations
  • Understanding of web/search analytics and traffic patterns and how both influence editorial decisions
  • Manage operations on a matchday and relevant workflow
  • Understand names and topics or interest to Liverpool FC’s global audience
  • Contribute to production of written copy and assets which best sell articles from a digital perspective
  • Liaise regularly with chief editor on development of content and digital ideas
  • Work closely with senior staff to develop new strands and avenues for content production, collaborating and sharing ideas across our team and network
  • Post engaging content and generate social media conversation, responsibly and effectively

Skills We Are Looking For

  • Strong level of written English and the ability to translate from other languages using tools
  • Top-level knowledge of Liverpool FC and the team’s history
  • Knowledge of digital journalism processes and newsgathering from a variety of sources
  • Demonstrable application of ability to editorialise and follow up on news stories/leads as they emerge
  • Knowledge of content management systems and/or HTML publishing
  • Creative multimedia brain and social media channel management skills
  • Other digitally-relevant skills such as photo and video editing, etc
  • Preferably comfortable on camera, both talking and writing about the club
