Hyphen, an innovative journalism start-up focused on new and established Muslim communities in the UK and Europe, seeks experienced multimedia producers.

Key responsibilities:

• Create multimedia content for our website and social platforms, owning the production process from proposal and research to filming and post-production.
• This may involve working with a reporter/presenter; filming interviews and pieces-to-camera; procuring third-party assets; using stock or agency footage; implementing motion graphics templates and editing third-party content.
• Maintain regular and clear communication with editors to ensure all are properly briefed on activities and work schedules.
• On occasion, produce quick-turnaround pieces.

Requirements:

• Candidates should have a robust insight into the aspirations and influence of new and established Muslim communities in the UK and Europe, across the fields of political, social, economic and civil society, as well as sport, business, arts and lifestyle.
• A strong background in multimedia journalism and/or production, with the ability to originate ideas; film interviews, pieces-to-camera and short films; and edit to a high standard with Adobe Premiere Pro.
• An understanding of what makes engaging multimedia content, and what people watch and share on social media.
• Must be able to demonstrate sound journalistic practice, such as balance, careful sourcing and a solid, practical understanding of media law.
• Work collaboratively with other reporters and editors.
