We are an online news and analysis website, and publish daily articles by experts from universities across the UK and Europe. Our stories are written for a general readership, and we aim to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and the public via a newsroom of editors.

We are looking for a Senior Business Editor to join our team. You will come with ideas and a strong interest in business coverage, from big breaking stories about the economy and developments in the world of tech, to more popular consumer stories. As well as speaking to a business audience through our global newsletter, you will also love to find and tell quirky stories that make economics relevant and interesting to a wider audience.

You will be responsible for the daily output of the business section and the management of two commissioning editors. You will be an excellent editor, with demonstrable skills from working with academic material or in journalism, and be able to promptly translate complicated ideas into accessible language for a general audience. With an excellent grasp of the English language, you will be highly organised and able to juggle multiple demands during the week. On a day-to-day basis you will devise and develop ideas, respond to pitches, and work with academic experts on their stories.

Our HQ is based in London but you don’t have to be – the role will include remote working. We value diversity, and are keen to receive applications from people from ethnically diverse and under-represented backgrounds.
