Global Witness is seeking a Senior Data Investigations Advisor to lead data analysis for investigations into companies and financial institutions driving deforestation.

About the role

As Senior Data Investigations Advisor you will support the publication of regular stories highlighting the role of financial institutions in deforestation and the impact this has on lives, biodiversity and climate.  The role will analyze multiple large datasets effectively and visualize findings.  This will support colleagues campaigning to stop the flow of money to deforestation from the UK, US, EU and China.

You’ll work closely with other campaign teams with analysts, programmers and policy experts to develop investigative leads and gather evidence using a diverse array of datasets. Your research will be used as the basis for media content.

About you

You will be an experienced data analyst able to extract, structure and analyze data to identify new stories on financiers and supply chain companies angles.  You will be talented at visualizing spatial data and able to communicate your findings persuasively.

You will also be a creative thinker that can use their data skills to chase leads in the service of investigations. You will be passionate about achieving change. Finally, you are a collaborator who enjoys working as part of a team with a solid infinity to Global Witness’ values.
